# How to post images onto instagram

1.  Firstly you can't post from a desktop PC or laptop - it has to be a mobile phone, so everything must be done from there which means you'll need to download instagram app from the [Google](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.instagram.android&hl=en_GB) or [Apple](https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/instagram/id389801252?mt=8) app store.
1.  Once you've got the app installed and running, you'll need to login. If you've already got a personal login for an instagram account, **don't use this** and instead choose the Add Account option which can be found in **Settings** from the top right hand menu (shown as ≡ or commonly known as the hamburger sign 😃). 
1.  You'll need to [login](https://www.instagram.com/accounts/login/) with username: **eastkentwalking** and password **walks2019**.
1.  Once logged in you can then post a sequence of photos which will be limited to a max of 10.
5.  To begin choosing photos, click the + sign at the bottom of the home screen (see highlight below):

6.  Now you'll be prompted for the photos you'd like to post. In order to select more than one, you must first click the 'multi' button shown highlighted:

7.  Now, click on up to 10 photos. I often click the 'best' photo first as this will be the initial photo that will appear to the general public. You will see a selection number increment as you click through your allocation of 10 photos.

8.  To remove a photo from your selection click it again and it will be removed, then you can choose another one.
9.  Once you are happy with your selection, click **Next.**
10.  Now you will be prompted for the Caption which should liberally #sprinkled with #hashtags (speak to Stuart who will give you a masterclass on #tagging 😃) 
11.  Before you click the final **OK,** you'll will need activate automatic posting to Facebook. This will only be possible if you have been setup as an administrator of the facebook EKWG page. Let me know if you aren't yet authorised and I can do that.
12.  Toggle on the button next to the Facebook caption.
13.  By default, your Instagram account will link to your personal Facebook profile. To link to the [**EastKentWalking**](https://www.facebook.com/eastkentwalking/) facebook Page instead, tap **Share to** and choose that Page.
14.  Confirm that it's okay for instagram to post to facebook if you haven't already done so.
15.  Now when you press **Share**, the photos should automatically go to both instagram and facebook!
