Newcomers are very welcome to come along and 'try' a walk, no booking required just turn up at the start point indicated. If you need any further information please contact the walk leader direct - their email addresses and mobile numbers are on the programmes.
All walks start at 10am unless otherwise stated. Please ensure you allow enough time to arrive and be ready for a prompt start so as not to hold up other walkers. If you are not sure of the starting point please contact the walk leader before the day of the walk as often there is no mobile phone reception in walk areas.
Before you join a walk make sure that:
- You have suitable footwear and clothing for the terrain and the weather. Jeans and trainers or flip flops are generally not good for walking longer distances and a waterproof/windproof jacket is always a good idea.
- You have sufficient water and food with you. Always bring a drink even if there is a pub stop included in the itinerary.
- You have a basic first aid kit for your personal use and any medication that you may need.
- You are comfortable with the length/distance of the walk.
- That you are familiar with the information provided by Ramblers on health and safety for walkers here.
Any walkers who might be concerned of how their 'next of kin' would be contacted if they were involved in an accident/incident and were unable to make the call themselves can always enter 'ICE' (stands for In Case of Emergency) with a contact name and number on your mobile and make sure that you carry with you on each walk. If really necessary your fellow walkers will make the call for you.

NEW COMMENT - If any of you find that are unable to join us on a Sunday but free on the Saturday why dont you have a look at the ramblers website for other groups who frequently do walks on other days of the week. Some of these groups have walks in the South East that you, as a member of ramblers, are free to join. As an example, click here to visit just one of the many London based groups to give you an idea of what's available.
Feedback - we genuinely value your opinion concerning the walks, please email here and tell us what you think - all comments welcome!!
